1 Catch a Con Artist Ages 5+
Can you tell truth from lie? Fact from falsehood? There’s a clever con-artist on the loose in the museum and the police need your help to catch them – but which side are you on? Join us for this fun, free family session that moves through the museum galleries.

2 Urban Village Fete
A free, modern take on the traditional British summer fete, celebrating design, art, music and craftmanship. The Urban Village Fete takes place in Greenwich’s Central Park (the green space by the 02) and features creative workshops, live music, talks and international street food. With DJs Bradley Zero and Colleen Cosmo Murphy. Crafts workshops include collage making and there will also be face painting. Enjoy gourmet street food from the likes of Eat the Farm, and a market of sustainable fashion and crafts. While you are there check out the NOW gallery or ride the Emirates Skyline.

3 Terrible Thames Tour
Not for the faint-hearted, this gruesome cruisesome of the Thames from the Horrible Histories team will have the kids in stitches. You’ll probably learn a few things too! London’s most awesome tour departs from Tower Bridge Quay on a fantastic journey incorporating immersive theatre with the incredible history of the nation’s capital.

4 George Irvin Fun Fair- all ages
All the fleece of the fair! Sorry parents but we all know the kids love a day at the fun fair and it’s rolling into Hackney Downs for the May Bank Holiday weekend. Whether you’re thrilled or you’ll be giving it an extreme swerve, it’s good to know where it’s on and when.

5 Handa’s Surprise Ages 2-5 years
If you’re yet to see this wonderful piece of children’s theatre head to Canada Water Theatre. Travel to Kenya and follow in Handa’s footsteps as she journeys to see her best friend Akeyo, in the next village. Handa is taking seven delicious fruits as a surprise – but seven different animals have seven very different ideas… A blend of physical performance, puppetry, live music and song combine to create an intimate, magical production with audience participation.

6 Kiddical Mass Bike Ride
Join this fun, family friendly cycle ride from Monument to Southwark Park. Option to get the train back from Canada Water Overground afterwards. Children will be able to ride their bikes together and enjoy the atmosphere as all over Europe on the 15th of May Kidical Mass Rides are organised to ask for safer, more Child-Friendly Streets. Join the Drama Geezers on a journey to save trees at St Margarets House. They need the help of curious children to help fill the pages of their blank storybook through creative play.

9 Great Fire of London Walk Primary Ages 5-12
Join the Museum of London in the great outdoors on a fun, safe family walk exploring The Great Fire of 1666. Was the baker of Pudding Lane to blame? What did Samuel Pepys bury in his garden? The 60 minute interactive walk brings history lessons to life how the Great Fire started, spread, and was finally stopped.

10 I Want My Hat Back Trilogy Ages 3-6
Following their hit digital series, lockdown sensations Ian Nicholson and Sam Wilde are back with more of their trademark cardboard design. Jon Klassen’s beloved books, I Want My Hat Back, This is Not My Hat and We Found A Hat, will have a brand new life of their own LIVE on the Little Angel Theatre stage. All your favourites including Bear, Little Fish and the Turtles will be making an appearance in this one-of-a-kind trilogy.

Baby Broadway’s coming to Poplar Union for a fun interactive family concert of songs from hit musicals and films. Join West End singers for a joyful morning of entertainment for all ages. 13 Greenways Forest School Ages 2-8
It’s time to explore the great outdoors! Greenways Forest School in Hackney Wick has Saturday forest school for kids as young as 2 years old. They’ll start off with mud kitchens and bug hunts and progress to learning bushcraft like the older groups. EEK members can enjoy a free trial so you can see if the experience is right for your child.

14 Chisenhale Studios Open Weekend
After 3 years, Chisenhale Studios will be throwing the doors of all 40 of their studio spaces open once again to reveal everything they’ve been up to. Everyone is welcome to wander in and out, see what’s on show, chat with the artists about their work and get stuck into some creative fun too.

15 Back to Nature
Families are invited to connect with nature at the Museum of the Home to explore the theme of home gardens. Whether you are lucky enough to have a back garden or a balcony or a little window box or whether your nearest park is your patch of grass. Create a communal garden artwork, celebrating the natural world we find around us and connect with nature together as part of an interactive performance.

16 Mexican Geniuses All Ages
A mesmerising show to bring the work of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera to life using the latest video-mapping technology. The whole family will enjoy engaging with over 300 projections from miniature to monumental, and watch as Frida and Diego’s brushstrokes paint the walls around you.

17 The Party

18 Roof East Kids before 5pm
Not so much of an event but something to do that parents can also enjoy, the holy grail of family fun. Get some friends together for some spring sunshine. Enjoy some great street food and a drink or two (or three) on the roof tops of Stratford at Roof East. With crazy golf, carpark karaoke, baseball batting cages, bowls, oversized Jenga and ping pong it has everything made up for a great day for all ages.

19 Tunnel Trouble Ages 7-11
It’s your first day on the job at Brunel’s tunnel, and what a day to start! Everything seems to be going wrong… Meet people from the history of the Tunnel, and try to help them out in this interactive trail! Succeed in solving a set of fiendish puzzles, one for each of the colourful characters, and you might just secure yourself an apprenticeship.

20 OAE TOTS: The King of the Sea Ages 2-5
Plunge into Poseidon’s underwater world at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. Your youngest music lovers will delight in this interactive Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment concert for ages two to five, featuring music from Baroque greats.
