Hanging out with Goofy at the Disney100 exhibition at East London ExCel Centre

Disney100 Exhibition: Win a Free Family Ticket for 4

Disney100 The exhibition is back by popular demand! If you missed it the first time around, don’t worry because you’ve got another chance to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Disney. And we have a family ticket to give away! – Competition now closed

Step into the realm of the Magical Kingdom right in East London at the ExCel Centre. From the classics we all grew up with to the modern favourites that continue to captivate audiences, the Disney100 Exhibition is a journey through the enchanting creations of some of our favourite fantasy and adventure films and beloved characters.

The exhibition takes you behind the scenes for a look at the creative process behind Disney’s creations. Discover the magic-making machinery from concept art to animatronics that bring these fantasy worlds to life.

Although this is an exhibition for Disney fans first and foremost, there are some fun interactive elements that children can enjoy engaging with that bring it all to life. From a view that submerses you into some brilliant underwater scenes allowing children to pull a lever to see what comes next to motion detecting screens that enable children to have a dance with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, this exhibition isn’t just a dry walk-through of Disney’s animation.

Because so many of the stories we grew up with are now owned by Disney, you’ll find exhibition displays from Marvel, Star Wars and Indiana Jones among the treasure trove of Disney’s productions. From original costumes to intricately crafted set pieces, each artifact tells a story of its own, transporting you to the enchanting worlds of Disney’s most famous adventures.

Disney100: Our Experience

Being a centennial celebration, the exhibition takes you on a journey of the last 100 years which I found captivating. As a parent, revisiting some of my favourite movies brought back cherished memories from my own childhood. Seeing my little one’s excitement as he discovered his favourite Disney characters was truly heartwarming. It had me thinking that my father, who is now in his 80s must have loved seeing my face light up when we went to Disneyland as a child.  He would have grown up with it all too.

While there may not be any rides, the exhibition is filled with captivating art, film, and animation that’ll reignite your love for all things Disney. It even sparked a conversation with my kiddo about Walt Disney’s passion for drawing and writing. Hopefully, he will one day develop a love for writing, if not at the very least a tolerance! One can only hope!
