While it’s no secret football classes are a great way to keep kids active all year round, there are also some surprising benefits for developing important social skills too.
Kiddikicks currently offers football classes in East London parks (London Fields and Victoria Park) for children as young as 18 months. Children take part in age appropriate groupings with challenges suitable for their level as they progress. We’re so excited they’re back and with a 15% discount for our members too!
1. Working as a Team
Interacting in a group sports class will help your child recognise the importance
of working as a team and interacting not only with other children, but also with
their coaches. They learn about leadership, team building and communication,
all of which are important life skills that will help them in school, their future
career and personal relationships.
2. Coping with Wins and Losses
Developing a child’s competitiveness while teaching them to both win and lose
gracefully can help them learn how to tackle obstacles and accept the setbacks
that life will naturally throw at them. Playing football will demonstrate the
fundamental lessons of winning and losing which are important for a child’s
development.
3. New Friendships
Group sports classes build a child’s confidence and regular classes allow new
friendships to blossom. It’s a good idea to encourage your child to get to
know their new friends with out-of-class play dates or days out.
Kiddikicks focuses on developing skills and encouraging everyone to
participate together, to have fun while keeping fit, together with friends.
Kiddikicks uses their tried and tested #RealSkillsRealFun football programme to
engage children and help boost cognitive performance in your little ones.
The programme and related equipment is designed for indoor or outdoor use
and is suitable for nursery and all Key Stage 1 children.

4. Developing gross motor skills
Children develop fundamental movement skills before the age of six. Running, catching, kicking and jumping are not only great ways to exercise they also help children develop essential muscle control and coordination. Playing football gives children an opportunity to use these movements and as they play and really learn what their bodies can do.
5. Fitness all year round
While it’s no secret that team sports are an excellent way to stay active, sometimes it’s hard to keep the motivation up throughout the year. Kiddikicks gives your family an option to play inside until March. The NHS recommends 1 hour of vigorous physical activity a day, football classes can get them started and you can “keep it uppy” in the park together after school or with friends during break time. Developing an early love of a sport that will grow with them and can be played in so many places helps children build good exercise habits.
