We’re looking for a NEW editorial and social media assistant to help out with East End Kids online magazine and platforms.

To provide editorial assistance and social media support to EastEndKids.co.uk from home reporting to the Editor.
EastEndKids.co.uk is an online information portal designed to help families make the most of living in the area.
The website takes on the style of an online magazine with a calendar of events, articles on activities, child-friendly shops, services, schools & special deals for local mums with the free East End Kids Membership Card.
Would suit someone who;
- Knows and visits playgroups, classes, and family events
- Wants to share their knowledge of the best things to do in the area
- Would like to work from home
- Is interested in marketing and enjoys writing about different topics
- Believes in the strength of community and wants to take a more active role
Previous knowledge or experience in direct marketing, fundraising, copywriting or social media would be highly desirable but don’t let it hold you back if you don’t have any. Some demonstrable skill or interest could suffice. Applicants will be required to write up a round-up feature of the top 5 events happening in the borough to demonstrate local knowledge and writing ability.
What’s required to run the site:
Adding to and keeping current content up-to-date on WordPress
Speaking to local businesses regarding listings and deals for local mums and advertising
Writing features and looking for interesting things to write about
Assist with social media scheduling and posting to local mums groups
Training and Development
You’ll be trained by the editor, a Digital Mum certified trainer who has also completed an IDM Professional Diploma in Data Marketing. She has trained several interns who have gone on to work with social media or writing in a professional capacity. You’ll get hands-on experience running social media channels, updating the CMS and researching and writing content for the site -the absolute best way to learn.
We’ll dive into the data, work on the strategy and develop your understanding of different social media platforms.
