Stepney City Farm

If you haven’t visited Stepney City Farm recently then round up the kids and take them for a slice of the countryside right here in the big smoke.

Chickens, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, owls, rabbits, chickens and more await you and the farm is neatly laid out with lanes to walk up and down where you can meet all of the menagerie, feed the rabbits and stroke the friendly goats.

Stepney City Farm Cafe

The farm has a lovely café open Wednesdays – Sundays 10am-3:45pm (hot food finishes at 2:30pm) with inside and outside seating, a range of sandwiches, salads, cakes and drinks and lots of items made locally such as Dalston Cola and Climpson’s coffee. Many items on the menu are made from produce grown on the farm itself.

When we visited we enjoyed a lovely mushroom, spinach and blue cheese frittata with chickpea salad and a locally made Strawberries & Cream icy fresh-pop.

Stepney City Farm – What’s On

There’s currently a Farmers Market every Saturday from 10am-3pm showcasing foods from farms and local makers dropping by from around the UK.

Every Friday The Frog Prince invites parents and their children for Baby Music Class a high energy jam session like you’ve never heard before. 10am & 11am.

Every last Saturday of the month, the Family Farm Club provides free arts and crafts for kids in the Classroom.

You can also buy fruit, vegetables and herbs made on the farm itself. During our visit we picked up beetroot, courgettes, a huge bunch of rhubarb for just 50p and a beautiful brunch of fresh mint that one of the staff picked for us on request.

The farm is always on the look out for new volunteers. If you are interested in helping out you can find out more here: http://stepneycityfarm.org/support-us/get-involved/
