Looking for an October half term camp in Hackney or Tower Hamlets that will keep them entertained during the school holidays? The Art Imaginarium has an exciting week lined up exploring film and TV
Sign them up for creativity-fueled days getting stuck into arts and crafts and circus skills at these brilliant half-term camps in Hackney and Tower Hamlets. Children will make everything from a clapperboard, a director’s megaphone, a filming camera, a film storyboard, a mini clay creation of a scene from the film, a gold Oscar award, a film premier ticket, a costume design and much more!
The children will be encouraged to create their own film story, but there will also be some fun examples from the popular Halloween-themed film Hotel Transylvania for the younger children.
With locations near Bethnal Green at Colombia Road and Dalston, this camp covers a lot of ground for East London parents. But while location is everything for us, for kids it will be about learning exciting circus skills, treasure hunts, parties and confidence-building exercises where their creativity can flourish.
At The Art Imaginarium, creativity isn’t just encouraged—it’s celebrated.
Founded in Dalston by Catherine Embleton, a passionate artist and educator with a background in theatre design, who saw the need for a holistically caring and creative holiday camp for kids in Hackney. Drawing from her own experiences and love for art and circus, Catherine has crafted a programme that seamlessly blends these elements to offer children aged 5-11 a one-of-a-kind experience.

A Week at The Art Imaginarium Camp
This camp is all about helping children discover their talents and feel great expressing themselves with a diverse range of workshops designed to unlock each child’s potential. From painting and paper mache to drawing and clay, children can get stuck into exploring different mediums of expression. Active kids will love hula hooping and juggling; there’s something for every budding artist and circus enthusiast to explore. These workshops aren’t just about mastering skills—they’re about nurturing confidence, creativity, and resilience in a supportive environment.
Along with exciting new daily arts & crafts, kids can enjoy circus play. On Fridays, a circus performer runs a workshop and puts on a circus show for the kids. But the fun doesn’t stop there! A treasure hunt, party with party bags and games will bring the whole week to an exciting finale!
Creativity and Well-being
Life can get hectic even when you’re little. As children learn to handle complex emotions and situations beyond their control, it’s more important than ever to give them the tools to look after their well-being. That’s why The Art Imaginarium goes beyond traditional holiday camps by incorporating confidence-building techniques, encouraging imagination and creative expression in all its forms into its curriculum. Through guided activities and exercises, children learn to cultivate a sense of calm, presence, and self-awareness—a valuable toolkit they can carry with them long after the camp ends.
Safety First: Peace of Mind for Parents
There are always two safeguarding leads on-site and two first aiders per site and all staff members undergo thorough background checks. With a minimum adult-to-child ratio of 1:8, every child receives the attention and supervision they need to thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
Flexibility and Convenience
One of the many perks of The Art Imaginarium holiday camp is flexibility. There are no minimum attendance requirements, parents have the freedom to choose the number of days that best suit their child’s schedule and interests. Whether it’s a single day of artistic exploration or a full week of creative immersion, the choice is yours.
As the doors of The Art Imaginarium’s location in Columbia rd swing open, a world of creativity and wonder awaits. From art and circus workshops to mindfulness activities and healthy snacks, every aspect of this holiday camp is designed to inspire and educate your children as whole human beings.
