Get ready to fuel your child’s sense of wonder! New Scientist Live returns this October to ExCeL London on 18–19 October 2025, and this year we’re offering one lucky family a free ticket (2 adults + 2 children) to join the fun.
A Festival Designed to Inspire Future Scientists
Over two days you’ll dive into hands-on, pioneering science designed to spark imaginations of all ages. With 70+ talks spanning themes like The Universe, Mind & Body, Our Planet, and The Future, older kids can be blown away by inspiring scientists, ask big questions, and see what drives real discovery.

The show floor is where science becomes adventure. With 90+ exhibits, visitors can:
- Program a real quantum computer and see how qubits work behind the scenes
- Join the hunt for dark matter, stepping into a mile-deep underground experiment to see how physicists search for unseen mass in the universe
- Fly a Chinook with RAF Youth STEM or learn the principles of flight by folding paper planes and testing them on a runway
- Ride a tractor simulator, try vertical farming, and explore how crops can grow using futuristic methods with fewer resources
- Operate medical tech, like micro-robotic eye surgery or ultrasound imaging, in child-friendly, interactive settings
- Try fun challenges, from reaction tests (Blaze Pod) to science games and quizzes that make learning playfully competitive
- Join “Technicians: We Make the Difference”, exploring 100 hands-on technician roles that help run our world — no degree required

Explore the future of assistive robotics!
Meet Euclid in action – a remarkable example of how robotics and AI are being designed to support independent living.
Euclid is a fully automated, 3D printed social robot designed primarily for older adult healthcare applications. As the human face is the most accessible and recognisable interface for communication, emulating these features allows a broader range of people with different capabilities to naturally use state-of-the-art AI technologies to assist in everyday tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Big Speakers, Big Inspiration
Kids (and grownups) will love hearing from names like Dr Zoe Williams and Dr Amir Khan (trusted TV doctors), or Josh Smalley (Bake Off finalist), showing how baking is really just chemistry in disguise. Other guest speakers explore wildlife, space, nuclear tech, and more — all in accessible, exciting ways.
