Are you a new parent looking for places to take your baby in Hackney? Perhaps meet some other parents, share some poonami trauma, and breastfeeding woes, and hopefully find other things to talk about too?

If you’re new to the baby scene it can be difficult to find all of the best places to go especially if you’re not that into social media. Tuesday is Parent and Baby Club at Rio Cinema where you can enjoy those early days before they understand anything that’s happening on the screen. Make the most of it! Round Chapel Families Project hosts ‘Wednesday Stay & Play’ in the Main Hall. A welcoming space for families and their children from The Families Project, Hackney community, carers and childcare professionals. Under 5s can enjoy soft play with plenty of space to roam, a craft table, snacks, sensory play, songs, and story time! Parents can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Afterward, you can stay for a low cost lunch.

The team behind Kindhaus is on a mission to make life easier and a bit more fun for parents, especially during the early years. They have services tailored to the needs of modern parents with a two hour creche service for when mum and dad need a bit of headspace or time together. Members get to experience a sense of community and support while discovering new ideas and making valuable connections. They host story times and events for little ones too. With barista coffee thrown in, what more could you ask for?

Play sessions are daily except for Sundays

Children’s Centres

We also highly recommend heading to your nearest children’s centre. Hackney is one of the few boroughs in London that hasn’t completely cut back. They’re free and you’ll meet loads of lovely local parents.
