Lucy has 3 daughters so is an absolute natural with kids and comes fully DBS checked and insured. She’s a professionally trained face painter who uses only quality brushes, one sponge per child, and professional paints. Her glitter is biodegradable, derived from plant cellulose, and sourced in the East End from the lovely Suzie at Soothe Me skincare.
Everyone loves glitter, but we all know the dangers to the oceans from microplastics. With Supernova Faces, you can be part of the solution.
We caught up with Lucy to find out more about her passion for face painting. She truly has a heart of gold. Someone you can trust to make an effort to provide a fantastic service at your little one’s next birthday party.
What do you love about face painting?
I’ve always been creative and love colour, so being a face painter really is a perfect job for me. I love making people’s dreams come true with colour and sparkle. The feedback I get from children when I’m face painting is great – they’re so genuine. It makes my day when they look in the mirror and they’re blown away with what I’ve painted.
What’s the largest event you have ever done?
During the World Cup, I painted at an event to mark Refugee Week at Amnesty International’s HQ. It was a big event, with lots of refugee families and supporters, drawn by the promise of the first England match on the big screen. It was fairly non-stop with children wanting painting, but every time England scored I’d get a scrum of adults wanting flags and football designs. The most amazing thing was that for some of the refugee children, it was the first time they’d ever had their faces painted. I felt a deep sense of responsibility to give them a good experience.
What do you get requests for the most?
Spiderman and unicorns seem to be perennially popular. I have a really strong red for Spiderman that gives a true comic book red, and I like to use rainbow colours and lots of glitter when painting unicorns.
